UP CHIEF HEALTH AND MEDICAL OFFICER JOINS HKS MEDICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS BOARD

JOHN T. KELLY BRINGS SENIOR MEDICAL MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE TO HKS

HKS Medical Information Systems, the developer of the Organ Transplant Tracking Record (OTTR), has named John T. Kelly, M.D., Ph.D., to its board of directors.  Dr. Kelly is presently serving as vice president, chief health and medical officer, of Union Pacific Railroad, one of America’s leading transportation companies and the largest railroad in North America.

Douglas J. Perry, president and chief executive officer of HKS Medical Information Systems said Dr. Kelly has an extensive background in strategy development, quality improvement and clinical information management.   “He understands the day-to-day challenges of providing quality health care and the financial implications to an employer, health insurance provider, hospital and patient. His unique blend of clinical and business decision making experience will help us expand our leadership within the patient tracking software marketplace.”

Dr. Kelly received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and his Ph.D. from Harvard University. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Kelly was senior vice president, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. He has held senior executive positions with a number of organizations including the American Medical Association and Aetna. He has served on the clinical faculties of the University of California, San Francisco; University of Chicago; and University of Pennsylvania.
