Kentucky Medical Center to use Organ Transplant tracking Software

Software can lower administrative costs, reduce potential for errors

The University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., has entered into an agreement to use the Organ Transplant Tracking Record, or OTTR, which is software for tracking the medical history and progress of patients undergoing organ transplantation.

The University of Kentucky Transplant Center has been providing transplantation services since 1964 and performs more than 130 transplants each year. The Center specializes in the transplantation of all major solid organs, including heart, lung, heart/lung, liver, kidney, kidney/pancreas and pancreas. The Transplant Center’s centralized clinic allows for the delivery of comprehensive, multidisciplinary care by teams of transplant specialists, which typically include surgeons, internists, nurse coordinators, social workers, dietitians and financial counselors.

OTTR was developed and is marketed by HKS Medical Information Systems to meet the unique clinical and patient management needs of the organ transplant community.
