HKS MEDICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS NAMES JOHN BIRGE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
HKS Medical Information Systems, the Omaha-based company that developed the Organ Transplant Tracking Record, has named John Birge to its board of directors.
Since 1976, Birge has been president of RDG Planning and Design, a nationally respected professional-services firm specializing in architecture, landscape architecture and planning. The company has offices in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, and Florida.
Birge has extensive experience in master planning and designing retirement communities. Birge and his colleagues have guided RDG to growth and success in several areas, including in the areas of strategic and urban planning as well as senior living, corporate, educational, religious, and museum facilities. Birge, the principal in charge of RDG's senior-living focus, played a key role in the development of Immanuel Lakeside Village in Omaha.
"John brings experience in managing and expanding a service-oriented business that specializes in listening to the needs and ideas of clients," said Doug Perry, president of HKS Medical Information Systems. "He is also very knowledgeable in communicating technical ideas and presenting solutions to numerous stakeholders in a complex sales environment."
Birge is a member of the Nebraska Society of Architects and the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is a registered professional architect in 14 states, past president of the Global Design Alliance, a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a member of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
